Main competitive advantage of pig iron produced by Tulachermet — low impurities content.
The enterprise produces more than 20 various Russian cast iron grades for steel works and foundries, seven of which are steel-making iron grades, and the rest 13 are foundry iron grades. Tulachermet produces nine cast iron grades for export markets, including steel-making iron for steelworks and foundries, nodular and semi-nodular grades for manufacturers of malleable iron castings and six grades of foundry iron for foundries.
The flexible production process makes it possible to considerably increase the share of foundry and nodular cast iron, depending on consumers’ requirements.
The main advantage of pig iron produced in Tula is low content of impurities, such as manganese, phosphorus, titanium, chrome, copper, vanadium, which is due to using quality iron ore of Kursk Magnetic Anomaly (Kombinat KMAruda) and coking coal (KOKS). The stable quality of raw materials combined with the manufacturing process make it possible to produce cast iron with impurity content as low as Mn, Р up to 0.05%, S — 0.015%, Ti, Cr, Cu, V — up to 0.025%, Al, Ni, Co, Sb, B, Te, As, Sn, Mo, Se, Zn, Bi in total — 0.03%.
At Tulachermet, a quality management system conforming to the international standard ISO 9001:2008 has been implemented and certified.
