Jakob Borstnar,
general manager of the Elektrode Jesenice company
Born 1953 in Novo mesto, Slovenia. Graduated in 1977 at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Ljubljana, as a university degree mechanical engineer. After serving in the Yugoslavian army, he began his professional career in Tito's Institutions Litostroj – Fork lift trucks factory, as a developmental technologist, and participated in the construction of a new fork lift truck production plant.
From 1982 to 1994 he was employed at the company for the manufacture of lighting equipment for the automobile industry, Saturnus Ljubljana. From 1987 to 1994 he was the manager of the Saturnus Toolmaking company, for the manufacture of tools and machines.
In 1995 he joined the Slovenian Steel Group, formerly Slovenian Ironworks, as Assistant Member of the Management Board, responsible for the field of development of the recasting and machinery production companies. As of 2001, he is the general manager of the Elektrode Jesenice company.
