Andrej Gradisnik, General Manager of the Metal Ravne company
Andrej Gradisnik was born in 1963 in Slovenj Gradec, Slovenia. After serving the military service from 1982 to 1983, he continued his university studies at the Faculty of Natural Science and Technology in Ljubljana and graduated in 1991. During his studies, he entered the world of top Alpine climbing. Ascending the Himalayas and other high mountains shaped his character and philosophy of life. Already in 1990, he started his career in the Technology Department of the Forging Shop, in the former Ravne Steelworks. He was promoted to the Head of Production Planning Department and then went to Ljubljana as Consultant to the General Manager of Slovenske Železarne.
In 1995, he returned to Ravne as Secretary to the Board of Management and finished his study for the title Specialist for Management at the Faculty of Economy in Ljubljana. Two years later, he was promoted to Deputy General Manager of Metal Ravne, d.o.o. He has also been running the company Serpa, d.o.o., as part of Metal Ravne, d.o.o. since. 2002. He has been a member of the regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry for 10 years. In August 2007, he was appointed the General Manager of Metal Ravne, d.o.o.
He is married and the father of a daughter and a son.
