Tibor Simonka,
The President of the Executive Board of Directors of SIJ – The Slovenian Steel Group
Tibor Simonka was born in 1953 in Lendava, Slovenia. He graduated from Faculty of Economics in Ljubljana in 1976. After serving in Yugoslav Army he started his career in 1977 in the largest Yugoslav company Iskra Group, in Iskra IEZE - Analysis and Execution of Investment Department. In 1980 he was promoted to Deputy Investment Manager in company Iskra Banka and in 1984 took up his appointment as Deputy Managing Director of Iskra Elektrozveze. In 1988 - 1993 he took a challenge in Belgium as Managing Director of one of the largest European mobile-home and caravan companies IMV Adria Caravan. After working abroad he went back to Iskra Group as crisis manager and procurist in Iskra Ponti - International Trading and Financial Company and in Iskra Vega – Producer of Optical and Telecommunication Systems.
