Tula-Steel launch is recognized as the main event of the year in Russian metallurgy
Tula-Steel metallurgical plant’s commissioning is recognized as the main event of the year in Russian metallurgy. The award ceremony was held within the framework of International Industrial Exhibition Metall-Expo’2019.
The competition “Main Event of the Year in Russian Metallurgy” is designed to support and promote development of industry. Its nominees are the most important implemented projects in the metallurgical industry of Russia. Laureates of this competition are chosen via closed ballot by the heads of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, unions, associations and other members of the Metal-Expo Organizing Committee.
“The launch of Tula-Steel partner metallurgical plant is certainly one of the most important events for domestic industry. It is the first integrated producer of high-quality long products from converter steel in the history of Russia. Launch of the enterprise will allow the import substitution for many goods items, as well as ensure reliable sales of pig iron for Tulachermet”, - said Sergey Frolov, IMH Vice President for Strategy and Communications.
Tula-Steel is IMH partner enterprise. Official opening of the plant took place in July 2019. The company’s products are used in construction, machine building and metal hardware industry. The plant will be able to produce about 1.8 mln tons of rolled products annually. Investments in the project amounted to RUB 55 bln.
Tula-Steel has the technical ability to produce wire rod in the range of 4.5-22 mm, equal-leg angle 20-125 mm, unequal-leg angle 40x25-140x90 mm, channel No. 5-16, beams No. 10-16, square 12-40 mm, round 14-100 mm in rods, round 4.5-22 mm in coils, strip 25x4-150x60 mm, hexagon 15-40 mm.
